Magnitude Software Introduces Noetix Analytics 5.5

Newest Release of packaged data management solution greatly simplifies and accelerates the process of accessing Oracle E-Business Suite data for strategic reporting

AUSTIN, Texas – March 10, 2016 – Magnitude Software, a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) software, today introduced Noetix Analytics 5.5 with new content, performance and scalability enhancements, and streamlined maintenance.

“The proliferation of data sources has sped up the need for real-time integration, access and analysis of information to help organizations get a 360-degree view of business entities,” said Parikshit Kumar, senior product manager for Noetix Analytics.  “Noetix Analytics 5.5 helps deliver on our mission to provide not only the most robust transactional and strategic reporting for Oracle E-Business Suite, but also an analytics platform that enables an enterprise view of data from heterogeneous sources from within a central repository.”

Noetix Analytics is a packaged data management solution that greatly simplifies and accelerates the process of implementing an enterprise data warehouse, giving organizations a comprehensive view of corporate information. The data can be used to support strategic performance reporting while also supporting the ability to drill down to transaction details and perform ad hoc analysis.

New Content

  • Version 5.5 features an expanded Customer common dimension to include different hierarchy levels as defined in Oracle E-Business Suite. The content is built upon the existing hierarchy framework that allows summarization and reporting of the data at any level.
  • The hierarchy metadata is auto-discovered based on the customer configuration in the source system.

Performance & Scalability Enhancements

  • Low value columns are removed from 17 transaction and dimension tables to reduce row changing and migration related issues, resulting in much faster ETL query response times.
  • Moved to a change number based Change Data Capture (CDC) for data marts instead of using the change flag, eliminating the time required for updating the change flags in the ODS tables. The result is a significant reduction in the data mart batch window time.

Streamlined Maintenance

  • The release comes with a single step upgrade process and guidelines to upgrade from prior versions of Noetix Analytics.
  • Several enhancements are added to the CDC maintenance administration console which includes managing ETL batches by module and several CDC components.
  • Table utility is extended to allow customers to add custom columns to existing ODS tables and to create new custom data mart tables.
  • A new customization guide is available with best practices around different types of recommended extensions that can be applied to the product.

Noetix Analytics 5.5 is now generally available.  For more information, contact your Magnitude Software account executive or email info@magnitude.com.  To view our Spotlight Recording on the latest release, visit https://youtu.be/Vcwm7yiL58w.

Magnitude Software Introduces On-Demand Training for NoetixViews Workbench

New course provides step-by-step instructional video, hands-on exercises and access to live chatwith Noetix Support

AUSTIN, Texas – January 26, 2016 – Magnitude Software, a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) software, today introduced a virtual training course designed to teach customers to use NoetixViews Workbench to manage customizations to NoetixViews for Oracle E-Business Suite.

“This is a very good self-paced training that compliments the use of the tool perfectly,” said Brian Grab, a senior system analyst at PPG Industries. “I preferred this to the on-site workbench training since I was able to walk through a more structured program that covered all the essentials to using the application.”

NoetixViews Workbench is a solution that enables users to customize and extend NoetixViews to meet those more complex reporting needs not met out-of-the-box.  Organizations benefit from the ability to add and modify columns, tables, and where clause lines, create joins between views, or modify a view for better performance.  Users can add custom views to the Noetix framework and include key and descriptive flexfields, joins to other views, essays, row-level security, and more.

Now available for the first time as part of the Magnitude Software Virtual Classroom, NoetixViews Workbench Training provides two-weeks of unlimited access to a personal, dedicated cloud-based training environment.  Students play the role of a Noetix Developer in a fictitious company where reporting requirements change regularly and therefore learn how to modify views and manage change across multiple NoetixViews environments.

The Virtual Classroom environment includes:

  • A Training Center application that prepares the environment for each exercise and validates the successful execution of each exercise.
  • A second ‘solution’ environment to enable students to see the expected results of the course exercises.
  • An online chat facility with remote environment sharing to connect students with an expert in the Magnitude Software support organization

“The videos were great because they went at a speed that allowed me to properly digest the information,” said Samantha Varela, program analyst at Tucson Electric Power Co.  “The exercises were helpful and I liked  that they didn’t give step by step instructions of what had to be done, but instead made you use previous knowledge.”

Magnitude Software Introduces Noetix Generator for Tableau

New Noetix Generator automates and simplifies access to data within Oracle E-Business Suite for operational and strategic reporting

AUSTIN, Texas – December 22, 2015 – Magnitude Software, a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) software, today introduced Noetix Generator for Tableau, a solution that greatly expedites the ability of Tableau users to perform their own analysis and reporting on data within Oracle E-Business Suite (EBS).

“Noetix is the industry expert at delivering simplified mappings of the data structures within Oracle EBS in the form of business views and analytics models,” said Jay Shipley, senior director of Engineering at Magnitude Software.  “Noetix Generator unlocks the power of Tableau, providing simple, intuitive access to rich business metadata for operational and strategic reporting.”

Enterprise applications such as Oracle EBS are designed for efficient transactions, not for easy business reporting.  Business Intelligence (BI) vendors strive to facilitate user-driven reporting from enterprise applications by providing generic report templates, the goal being to help jumpstart the reporting process.  However, these vendors’ tools still require a significant amount of manual effort to map the technical metadata to business terminology in order to make sense to users who are trying to find their data.

Noetix quickly and cost-effectively translates the data access complexities into familiar, easy-to-use business views, providing the ideal reporting foundation for any BI initiative.  For real-time operational reporting, Noetix Generator for Tableau enables direct access to Oracle EBS data in the transaction system with NoetixViews, providing users with the most complete and up-to-date real-time information.  For strategic reporting needs, Noetix Generator for Tableau provides access to the information in the packaged data warehouse using Noetix® Analytics.  Historical trending information is immediately available, along with summarized, pre-aggregated metrics allowing for complex strategic analysis.

Key features for Tableau administrators include:

  • Standardized, business-friendly access to Oracle EBS data via the Noetix Connector for Tableau.
  • Secure connectivity to Oracle EBS data through users’ existing accounts via the Noetix ODBC driver.
  • Simplified administration of multiple business intelligence tools with minimal IT involvement.

Key features for Tableau users include:

  • Simplified self-service access to Oracle EBS data.
  • Business-friendly names for view and table columns.
  • Pre-defined joins and view relationships and hierarchies.

Noetix Generator for Tableau joins the Noetix Generator family of products including Noetix Generator for QlikView, Noetix® Generator for SAP® BusinessObjects, Noetix® Generator for IBM® Cognos® BI, Noetix® Generator for Oracle® BI, Noetix® Generator for Oracle® Discoverer, Noetix® Generator for Microsoft® Business Intelligence, and Noetix Generator for IBI WebFOCUS.  Each of these products is designed to enable users to more easily and effectively access their business intelligence data and create custom reports without IT assistance.

Magnitude Software Delivers Faster Time to Business Value with Enhancements to Noetix Operational Reporting Solution

AUSTIN, Texas – Sept. 24, 2015 – Magnitude Software, a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) software, today released new product versions designed to inject value into every component of the Noetix operational reporting solution for Oracle E-Business Suite.

“The line of business demand for better information faster puts relentless pressure on operational reporting,” said Paul Winterstein, senior director, product management at Magnitude Software.  “Business intelligence professionals need to be responsive and agile, delivering optimized solutions that meet the ever-changing requirements from users.  Our new product releases help to quickly satisfy those user demands.”

Now available, NoetixViews 6.5 for Oracle E-Business Suite features incremental regeneration for global views.  Before incremental regeneration, the only option for implementing NoetixViews Workbench customizations was a full regeneration of the views.  This often required hours of run-time along with extensive planning and coordination involving multiple levels of people within the organization.  Incremental regeneration only processes NoetixViews Workbench changes since the last full or incremental regeneration, shrinking the wait time to minutes and with little disruption.  End users benefit from quicker access to data and faster time to business decisions; fewer resources and less planning are required from IT.

Key enhancements for NoetixViews 6.5 include:

  • Out of the box business views that can be customized and extended using NoetixViews Workbench to meet the most challenging of reporting requirements.
  • Joins between views enable report creation using data from two or more views.
  • Usability improvements – 9,500 columns added for faster display of lists of values.
  • Enhancements to Subledger Accounting (SLA) views.
  • New SLA views for US Federal Financials budget transactions.
  • Performance tuning – 100x improvement in bills of material summary view.
  • New module: NoetixViews for Oracle Contract Lifecycle Management.

Also shipping with NoetixViews 6.5 is Noetix Enterprise Manager 2.2 and NoetixViews Workbench 2.2, enabling users to create more robust designs and deploy them in minutes.

Noetix Enterprise Manager is the platform for running the browser-based versions of the Noetix administration tools.  Enterprise Manager provides a common framework of users, environments, jobs and logs for NoetixViews Workbench, Noetix MetaBuilder, and Noetix Search Builder, the administration tool for building and maintaining Noetix Search indexes.  Now in its second generation of release, Noetix Enterprise Manager delivers an all-inclusive platform for running the full suite of applications in the Noetix operational reporting solution.

New features for Noetix Enterprise Manager include a common framework for Noetix administration tools, allowing them to work better together and management for Noetix development, test, and production environments.

Key enhancements for NoetixViews Workbench 2.2 include:

  • More answers to business questions with reports based on multiple views and joins based on composite keys.
  • Optimal query creation by setting join properties and cardinality to precisely match the business rules of your data.
  • Automated staging of NoetixViews Workbench customizations directly to the NoetixViews install directory.
  • New incremental regeneration process deploys customization changes in minutes.

REDMOND, Wash. – July 28, 2015 – Magnitude Software, a leading provider of Enterprise Information Management (EIM) software, today announced it has been named to King County’s annual list of  Best Workplaces for Recycling and Waste Reduction for the seventh consecutive year.

King County’s Solid Waste Division initiated the list nine years ago to recognize local businesses for their commitment to making recycling a priority for their companies. Their actions help reduce the impacts of climate change and feed recycled materials back into the economy.

“Magnitude Software is one of our Honor Roll companies, having established best practices for business recycling processes that have been in place for seven consecutive years,” said Karen May, project manager, Recycling and Environmental Services at King County Solid Waste Division.
